Wins in the US dominated new-business activity this month.
OMD topped the global new-business league for media agencies from January to June 2024, according to analysis by Campaign Advertising Intelligence.
Omnicom Media Group’s OMD beat its rivals, rising from eighth in the global rankings published last month, after securing $907.1m in total billings attached to account wins throughout 2024 so far.
The agency’s $598.3m Gap win in the US last month significantly contributed to its success. The win is the largest account move tracked by Campaign AI so far this year. The agency also retained the China account for dairy producer Yili, with briefs totalling $79m.
Campaign Advertising Intelligence has produced the global media rankings using data from COMvergence, built from its measure of billings, ‘total net media spend’. This is based on net offline monitored spend plus COMvergence’s digital media spend estimates.
June refers to the publishing month of the rankings by Campaign. The data covers all 2024 account wins reported by COMvergence as of 4 June 2024. Next month’s rankings (July) will include accounts reported after this date. Reported figures may be revised in the future as more information becomes available.
