OMD EMEA HQ honoured Race Equality Week, a campaign that addresses barriers to race equality in the workplace, actively seeks to promote growth, equity and equality of opportunity, and addresses disparities faced by our multicultural communities.
Throughout the week, we celebrated our brilliant talent from our multicultural communities by featuring a variety of people across the agency, from different backgrounds and job roles to share what equality means to each of them, highlighting topics of culture, uniqueness and individuality.
As part of the initiatives we also hosted our Red Half Hour event, an insightful, lively and inspirational panel featuring Natalie Ojevah MBE, Barclays Black Founder Accelerator, Fred Santana (a very recent ex-OMDer) and Temi Alchemy – co founder of the award-winning podcast 90s Baby Show, hosted by our very own Adrian Okosun, Senior Manager Marketing Science team.
Our speakers shared views on their life experiences, on equality and race in education and work. A great take away was the importance of allies, sponsors and taking charge of your own personal brand with the hope that in the future we no longer focus on race but just being humans, each valued for our talents and contribution.
Most importantly, as we continue to better inform our DIB (Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging) work, we will continue to take pro-active action to drive that change.
