Ofcom launched its 2022 report which delved into young children’s use of online social media in young children, as its been reported that young children are defying age restrictions to use social platforms – particularly when creating ‘Finstas’ and TikTots’.
Despite 13 years being the minimum age to use most social media sites, one-third of parents of 5-7-year-olds and two-thirds of parents of 8-11-year-olds said their kids have their own personal social media profiles.
